So in our neighborhood every year there is a "boo'ing" that goes on. From house to house you see the signs go up every few days as more houses get hit. So I decided to be the initiator this year. So today I went over to Joann's, where all the Halloween loot is currently 50% off! I picked up a couples of small metal bags, some skull candles, gummy body parts (like bloody finger, ears, noses....gross!), small Styrofoam headstones, and a "bone cutter" knife, which is a pumpkin cutter with a bone shaped handle. Then I went and got a few more candies at the grocery.

I got the clip art from this website. I just enlarged the clip art to "fit the page" when printing in PSE. And then I just copied the poem from this page and used a spooky font. I think they turned out pretty cute. I had to photo them in the house since we are having one of our notorious windy Oct. days today. Anyway, they are cuter then they look in these photos!

Does your neighborhood do anything like this? If not you should be the initiator and get to working on your Boo's too! :)

Enjoying the weekend

Well, so far this has been a nice weekend. Probably the last 'hot" one we will have until May or so. It's mid 90's here this weekend and while I'm definitely ready for fall, it is nice to get one last warm weekend in to do summer things. Yesterday was a marathon soccer day, with one game at 10 and one at 1. So we were here, there and everywhere. Our teams won both games! YIPPEE!!
On the way home from soccer I suggested we go to the movies after we got home and cleaned up. So we showered and changed and went to see Igor, the only family friendly movie out right now it seems. All I can say is don't waste your money. It starts out with great potential, but just goes downhill after about the first 10 minutes. The music choices are ill fitting and there is some political commentary that I found rather "in your face". I'm all for kids movies that entertain with a message, but this was really off base. SKIP IT.
After the show we were going to go eat at Lucille's BBQ, but when we pulled up there were people waiting outside and we didn't feel like waiting for dinner so we drove down a block to Mel's Diner and had burgers and shakes. YUM. Then we came home and crashed. I was asleep by 10 I think.
Today is chore day, fixing a broken toilet seat, cleaning out the fridge, mowing the lawn kind of day. Making homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. Boring, but sometimes boring is great. :)

So what's new people?

I am so glad that fall is right around the corner, literally. We are finally out of the 90's and down into the high 80's around here which means I can wear jeans again which I love. Soccer is in full swing. Jacob had a MAJOR ear infection last weekend so he missed his game but the twins played theirs and they got better this week. As Jason says "at 5 playing soccer is like herding cats". So true!

School is going well for the boys, although the twins got a timeout last week which I was mad about. But I came to find out that there was a story, as there always is. Luke was reading and a kid came up and licked his face, so he ran off. The kid got up and took off after Luke. Nick got up and basically tackled the kid who went after Luke and I'm sure added a "don't chase my brother" in there somewhere. Let's just say that I have no worries for Nick's safety on the playground. He is definitely going to be my "jock". And therefor I have no worries about Luke because he is Nick's twin brother and shall forever be protected by his own personal bad ass bodyguard.

I was so sad to hear the news about Aleida Franklin. Members of the scrap community will know who I am talking about. She was killed in a car accident on Friday on her way to work. She has 2 small children (4 and 7) who are now without their mom. Just so sad. These are life's "punches in the gut" that make you realize it's always better to not stress and just slow down and breathe and enjoy the ride. Because you have no idea what tomorrow will bring. I was so stressed out last week about my store stuff and then this happened and I just let it all go, because it doesn't matter. In the end what matters is that your family life is manageable, happy and sane and that you live life to the fullest.

Well, I have had a VERY busy last week or more. We celebrated the twins "family birthday last Friday which included me making a homemade cake and not one but two requested dinners. A pot of homemade Chicken noodle soup and Thai Pasta Salad. So I spent about 4 hours in the kitchen that day. But we had a good time and the boys enjoyed their special day.

Saturday was the opening day of soccer for everyone. In our county there were over 500 games being played. Luckily we only lad to be at 2. Jacob is on a team with a very "seasoned' coach and they won against a very tough team 3-0. The twins are being coaced by dad and they did great, but they lost 2-4...oh well. Wish them luck for this weekend!

Sunday was the friends birthday party at the bouncy house place....big fun!!

I want to close with a few words about 9/11. This is my generations "life changing" event. There will never be another social awakening like that for me. Our grandparents had Pearl Harbor. Our parents had all the political upheaval of the 60's and assassinations of both Kennedy's and King. We have 9/11. It's a scar that I feel every day. I remember being nearly 9 months pregnant and laying on the couch the entire day and crying and wondering if life would be the same for my children as it had been for me. Fairly safe, fairly carefree.
Looking back 7 years I think it is quite a different world we live in. While the everyday routine may be pretty ordinary it is ALWAYS in the back of my mind. When I cross the Bay Bridge or Golden Gate I am ALWAYS scanning the sky to make sure a plane isn't headed for us. I am ALWAYS praying that the semi truck next to me isn't loaded with a bomb ready to take down the bridge just as we hit the midway. I defiantly have been hit with 9/11 anxiety syndrome. And I hate it. I want to go back to not worrying that a simple trip to the mall could end up with some nut going crazy and taking taking out my whole family. But this is where we are.
I want to thank each and every troop who has taken the oath to serve this country. You are the HERO that keeps us safe and you have done your jobs amazingly well over the last 7 years. We have been kept safe since that fateful day. My friend Sasha posted on her blog about why is it that the elite get to sip there tea and play croquet on the lawn in the Hampton's while the little guy is the one who is fighting and keeping the country safe. Kudos girl! That's how it has always been. Look at every line of work from farming to software companies. In the older wars rich men would pay other to take their places in the line of duty. {insert eye roll}

That's my thought exactly. I have a friend who is very liberal and wants to "talk" out wars. He was mad at me because I voted for George W., in that I thought we had a job to do as far as bringing the terrorists to justice. His point was that I have 3sons and it's possible that they will at some point have to serve his country to fight this "senseless war", and is that what I want...to send my kids off to die? That's not the way I see it. I think our #1 objective is to stand up and fight like hell. I don't want to see anyone die fighting in a war, but I certainly don't think dying trying to protect your country and carrying out missions to accomplish that is dying in vain, it's dying while holding conviction and serving the good of the "whole" which is so heroic in my opinion. So many people don't give our service people a second thought and it pisses me off.
I wonder what would be happening if Saddam was still in power and alive. Would things be worse? I guess he played chicken with the wrong country this time around. He did it so often in the 80's and 90's I guess he forgot there was a new President in charge now. And now he's history. And his disgusting children are history. I'll let you wiki them to read about all of the sickening things they did. Yuck and good riddance.
I really hope McCain wins because he was involved in the same sort of war we are in now. A war that seemed pointless and fruitless. But I think he has a plan of attack that could get the real bad guys and I'm willing to give him a try. If he can withstand all that he did as a POW I think he has the fortitude even at his age to get this job done, and I for one am willing to let him do it. I feel much more comfortable electing someone who has some real life experience in a war zone when taking over as Commander in Chief. He seems smart with a lot of experience under his belt. I like him. My 2 cents about the election. Man, I'm all over the place :){deep sigh}
Please remember how you felt on 9/11/01. Think about all the moms and dads who never came home. Think about the terror those families on the airplanes felt when their planes were going down. Think about the soldiers who were watching this all go down with you and me, realizing it was their job to clean it up. Think about the firemen trying in vain to save lives while so many lost their own.
We in America think about the other guy. We have empathy. We have compassion. We give to our brothers and sisters in need...always! We rally. We still have a sense to do the right thing...this I believe...because I see it every time we are faced with a crisis. There is always an outpouring of support. Todd Beamer said it best with his final words. Words to live by when faced with a horrific situation "Let's roll" .
Thanks for sticking with my, all over the place ramblings. Hugs and tears today. And we will never forget.

In our household Tuesday night has taken on a whole new level of excitement! WIPEOUT is our new favorite show. The boys LOVE it! If you haven't seen it the premise is to basically take a mix of "average" people and put them through an insanely difficult obstacle course. They weed them out through different levels and the ultimate winner will get $50,000.
This is Jr. High school humor at it's finest!

New tunes and love letters...

Every so often I get really nostalgic for days gone by. I came across a bunch of mellow old 70's songs that remind me of being 5 and riding in the car, so I decided to post them up. Enjoy, or put it on mute if that's not your thing... LOL!
So I did this LO today rather quickly but I'm happy with how it turned out. I used Pink Paislee papers, a few "in stitch" buttons, some American crafts hearts and felt Thickers, and Making Memories tiny alphas.

A new week...

We had such a great last couple of weeks. We really enjoyed Jason's vacation time. He had 2 weeks off and we went to SF for the night and then we went to Six Flags one day as well. We also got some home projects well underway which we can easily complete over the next few weeks.
Re-painting our bedroom and framing the windows as well as adding crown molding. And then we also want to repaint our front porch rail and switch out our fixtures. Right now we have the sort of recessed overhead lights out there and a year ago I bought some that hang down, so my goal is by the end of August/early Sept. to have all those things crossed off my to do list. There really isn't a hurry, I would just like to get it done... :)

So soccer season is here!! Jason is going to coach the twins team (The Knights) this year. They are so excited. Tonight is the first team meeting and they are wearing their uniforms to the pizza place...pretty cute!

I did this one using papers from the Picnic basket kit! I also added some Melissa Frances lace, a MME frame, in stitch buttons, some SW chipboard and those fun Cosmo letters. So the paper under my journaling block is a Jenni Bowlin shaped mini paper and I liked it, but I wanted it to pop, so I decided to paint it that orange and I'm really happy with the result.

The family packed up last week for a little spur of the moment trek over to San Francisco. It's only about an hour and a half away so it's really not much work getting there and we can get there and back on less than a tank of gas so it was a perfect idea. Plus I figured out we had almost enough points for a free room in Union Square through our Hilton card, so I shelled out a little extra money to purchase our necessary points and voila, a 4 star room in the heart of the city for the price of a Best Western in Fresno...HEHE. I shall start off our photo tour with the necessary Cable Car shot!

Our first stop was the exploratorium. It was really fun but pretty crowded for a Wednesday. Lot's of summer camp people I guess, and a lot of tourists. So we stayed and played for a few hours and then we went back to our hotel.

We checked in and got settled and then we headed out for Fisherman's Wharf. Apparently both Jason and I thought the other had the camera and neither of us did, so no photo's from our night of walking around, eating at Aliotto's, or hitting Ghiradelli Square.
The next morning we got up and went to Union Square, which was a block from our hotel. We went to Macy's and up top is the Cheesecake Factory where we had an early lunch. Then we walked around a bit and ended up buying books at Borders. We had an appointment in Brisbane to keep at 2 so we took off from the city about 1. it was a really fun little getaway! And the kids loved the change of scenery and pace of life.

A boy in constant motion!!

Here's a LO I did last night while I was making dinner at the same time. Am I the only on who does like 4 things at once?? LOL!
I used papers from the Picnic Basket kit. I added AC thickers, tiny MM letters, some creative cafe florals, a Fancy Pants overlay, some JB tickets and an in stitch button. I had taken this series of photos trying to get one "good" one of Luke but he was jumping up and down, as ususal. When I looked at them I had this idea at once. So the journaling in the tickets reads "it's so hard to stand still when you are a 4 year old boy."

A couple of PB LO's

I have actually had time to do some LO's over the last few days. The boys have been in camp. J goes in the morning and the twins in the afternoon, so it's a lot of driving and dropping off and picking up, but they have had fun! Plus I have had a bit of time to myself to clean up and get some scrapping in.
So for this one I used papers from the PB add on kit. The silver trim, ribbon and white frame are also from the kit. I added all the SL buttons and florals, the MR sheer with an old HS chipboard 6 on it. Plus I added the MM journaling page, MM tiny letters and the SR chip letter. This is a weird one for me using all that white space, but I really love it!

Then for this one I used papers from the Picnic Basket kit. The ribbon and red letters are from that kit too. I added in my fave SL buttons and florals, some AC corners, and some more of the tiny MM letters. These were photos that were sent home from preschool on the apples and when I saw that paper I thought it would be perfect!

My kids are currently IN LOVE with Urkel. Nick at Night shows Family Matters at 8:00 and my kids discovered this long lost gem of a show recently. As soon as Steve Urkel comes on the screen they all start laughing hysterically for no apparent reason other than the way he looks. And then when he starts talking they seriously pee their pants. Good lord!

Kung Fu and the Drive in.

This weekend was quite the big movie weekend for our family. Friday was the first day out of school so we met up with some friends for lunch and then off to see Kung Fu Panda. Run to the theaters to see it!! Even if you don't have kids you will love it. Jack Black is hilarious and it's really worth the price of admission!

Friday night after the movie I had a Bunco night with the girls. I lost. Oh well.

Then on Sat. we did a bunch of chores around the house and then we decided to try the drive in theater a few towns over. I hadn't see the Indiana Jones movie yet and I really wanted to. So we got there about 45 minutes before the show was starting. WOW, that place was packed. So we found our screen and managed to get a good spot.

The cool thing is that all the shows are double features. Most people were there to see the Kung Fu Panda/Iron Man double feature. Our second show was Drillbit Taylor. Anyway, I haven't been to a drive in since I was a kid. This place was like a time machine. I don't think they have even repainted since maybe 1970. The concession stand was the round looking building in the middle of the screens with the old time playground (not sure how that passes inspection). And all the funky old signs are still up, chipped paint and all. Next time we go I am definitely going to get there really early and wander around for some photos.

So we backed in and got ALL our blankets and pillows set up. The kids brought about every single pillow and blanket in their rooms they were so excited. The show was supposed to start at 8:45. So by 9:30 it was still not showing. I'm not sure if this is how all drive in's work or what. I guess since it's not like there is another show after they just start once everyone is in. It was interesting. The kids only made it for about the first half an hour which was good, because it was to scary for them. It was kind of a fun movie, but this is one you can skip and get on Netflix for sure. Here's a few shots of the evening!

Today was a good day. I got a bunch of orders. I took the boys to the store with me to mail them off and told them they could each pick out some ice cream cones and a flavor of ice cream. They both picked those super tiny Hagen Das chocolate cups and even remembered to get a vanilla for Jacob.

Came home and I got the car washed. Then I did a bit of yard work. I took about an hour and a half to work on a LO, then I made dinner. Then I blog surfed for a bit and found this AMAZING piece of eye candy! ...now we are off to Jacob's tennis lessons. Life is busy, but good!

Look what my friend Simone sent me!! How cut are these!? Anyway, I got a surprise box in the mail yesterday with a Happy Birthday card and these fabulous books, one for me and one for the kids. My birthday is actually in Jan...but hey, I'll take birthday presents any day of the week...LOL!!
So Jacob promptly took the "monkey book" and scrawled his name boldly on the cover proclaiming his ownership of it. Then he started a summer 'to do" list which so far includes Kung Fu Panda, Sunsplash, Build a Bear, swimming lessons, and going in the Hot Tub...hee hee.

Mother's Day...

This Mother's Day was really nice. I got up and the kids got me their gifts. Jacob made me a beautiful card and the twins made me some sweet hand prints. The guys had gone to the "paint your own pottery" place and made me a mug, a tea cup, and a soap dispenser! WOW!
Then my mom and grandmother came and had lunch with us. I made a super delish Chinese Chicken Salad. For my first try with the recipe I was really happy with how it tasted and looked. We had that, plus some fresh crunchy sourdough, and Arnold Palmers to drink.
It was nice to spend the day with them. We played the Wii and my grandmother enjoyed watching.

My cousin got married this weekend! It was a really fun wedding and the weather was perfect! On the way there we stopped to get the boys some food and as we were getting on the freeway there was a guy hitch-hiking. Nick saw him and said "Hey mom, that's guys giving up the thumbs up." We had a great weekend around here! The weather was perfect (mid 80's) and the kids loved getting out into the sunshine. Today the guys spent some time washing the car and then dad turned the hose on the boys to let them run around the front lawn and burn off some energy!

I did this LO this morning using the new Crate paper Static kit, which I sell over in the store! This is such an awesome paper pack to do all your boy stuff with! it includes papers, die cuts, and rub ons...so it's a great deal!

Last night Jason and I got to go over to some friends house for a nice little party. It was so great to get out with the grown ups, even though I was really tired and we were the first to leave. At any rate his turned out to be a really nice weekend, after a long past few weeks!

Well, I think I will leave my grandfathers music up for a bit. I kind of like hoping on to my blog and hearing it, so up it will stay for awhile. If you can believe it we got word this morning that Jason's grandmother is in the hospital in very bad shape. It sounds like there may be some internal hemorrhaging going on but it's unclear. I guess when it rains it pours in our family... :(

In lighter news...I ordered the new Becky Fleck "Page Maps" book from Amazon a few weeks back and over the week I have been scanning it. It looks great!! I have already done one LO with it which is the first one down below.

This is for the fabric challenge going on right now that Adrienne is hosting.

A Sad Day....

Isn't this a great photo? I know it was taken on July 18th 1942 at a dance in Stockton, CA. I believe this was the day my grandparents met each other. If not at this dance then I know they met at a similar dance around the same time. They were married for 65 years just last month. My grandfather passed away today after a month long battle with pneumonia....I feel very sad. He was a good man, a good provider and a good husband...I will miss him.

Scrap Your Crap PP Challenge

I did this fun Lil' LO (8x8) for my friends Simone and Greta's SYC PP challenge. You need to use 4 pieces of scrap PP, no cutting into a new piece of 12x12 allowed. Luckily I had my favorite MME paper scraps around so I got busy and whipped this out. I also used a Hambly Rub on to make my jounaling spot (on the back of a scrap of PP), A Jenni Bowlin felt floral, A SR chip circle and a MME rub on transfer.

So here's a little history of why I got this amazing new band o' diamonds! When I was pregnant with the twins I gained probably close to 100lbs. I refused to look at the scale the whole time, but considering they were 7 1/2 lbs a piece, and I was on bed rest for 4 months, that's my guess. So I had to have my original wedding band and engagement ring cut off because I got so big. We have been meaning to get my rings fixed for the longest time. So last week while the kids were on spring break I mentioned about going to get my rings fixed and it worked out. So on the way down I said "maybe I'll see about getting my ring 'enhanced'". Jason said sure and when we got there and talked to the sales lady we figured out to get a new ring it would be close to an extra 10k....ummmmm....no! Plus my original diamond, while not huge, is an incredible quality diamond. The woman wanted to double check my certificate to see what we had. She said that color clarity diamond is very rare. Anyway...long story short. My original solitaire and wedding band are on vacation in NYC getting refurbished so they can meet their new friend which is sitting on my wedding finger right now. I decided instead of upping my original diamond I would get an extra band to bling it out a bit. So now I will have a top and bottom band around my solitaire...loving how this is going to look!!

So this weekend I am heading over to Folsom for my first ever big scrapping crop. It's a 12 hour event full of fun, scrapping and meeting new friends. Ashley is coming from the DT. Patti was supposed to come but she got super sick (get better!!). Lesle will be there, plus Patti S. who owns the store where it's going to be held. We are meeting at her Folsom store but she actually has a shop right across the street from my neighborhood too! So this should be fun. I think there are going to be about 25 people in all!

So in other scrapping news. Kaaren from the new kit review site Pampered Scrappers ordered one of my kits last week and put her review of it up today! I was very flattered by her nice comments! Ok....so I admit it, I'm 2 decades late to the game on this one. I had NO IDEA that ""Mary Mary" was a Monkees song! I always assumed it was a dope,ill,fresh jam from Run DMC until this weekend when my children changed the way I will forever hear this song. They are so into the old Monkees episodes right now it's ridiculous, and I usually "tune out" a bit when they are on, that is until I heard "Mary, Mary, where you going to?" blasting from the tube! I would do a side by side comparison but Sony BMG won't let youtube embed their version on blogger, so enjoy the Monkee's version on me!

I especailly love this version. It's like a poorly dubbed Gozilla film!

Snow and airplanes

So we had a pretty nice weekend around here. The weather was perfect! Saturday my dad came down and took the boys (minus one pouting six year old) to the snow. They had a blast!

They brought home a sled full of snow so Jacob could see it (and think about what he missed) and they had enough to make a snowman. This was the transformers snowman. He took on various shapes and ended with this version Nick made by himself.

Then of course, as all good grandfathers do, my dad gave the boys all a toy. This time it was rubber band wind up airplanes. Those little suckers were good for a full afternoon for fun.

Saturday ended with the boys throwing all remaining snow at the neighbor girls for our own little neighborhood snowball fight!

It was a good day!

I have decided to at long last keep a journal, if you will, of the wit and wisdom I am exposed to every single day. Now where, you may ask, does this daily inspiration of thought come from? A witty, yet thought provoking blog? A daily article in the SF Chronicle? My children and their 4 year old senses of humor? No. I, my friends, have come to find that license plate covers make for quite the car trip and home conversations and thought sessions.

First off take mine. It simply states "You can't scare me, I have twins" proclaiming to the world that no matter how bad a driver you are you can't shake me...I have been to hell and back.

Today I saw an interesting cover that got me thinking. "Fat people have more to offer". Hmmmm..... Yes and no. I can see both sides of this coin.

Watch for more of my "license plate covers from CA" entries to come. One of my personal favorite "classics" is the old..."49% angel, 51% bitch"...I have to roll my eyes every time I see it...lol!!

Oh girl...I'm joining you in throwback friday this week! This was the jam my girls and I used to cruise to...lol!!

Ok, so here's the scene, 4 teen girls in a red 2 seater Fiero (oh yeah...don't hate!) Sunroof off and all of our huge crunchy hair sticking out the top, but this was a good thing because the wind would only make our bangs higher and frizzier. First off I have to start with a little bit of why my kids are so great. Last night Jason and I were working on my website and trying to figure out why it was double charging on shipping. The twins were asleep and Jacob was wandering around talking to us. He came up and gave me a big hug and said he wanted to have a website like mine. I told him we would work on it when he was 12. I took him to bed and put on some music and said goodnight. He yelled down the hall at me..."Mom, I'm a fan of your website"! So cute!!

Next...guess who's getting some leap year love?? ME!! I got an email from Memory Makers Magazine that my Hometown Layout will be their featured LO for the inspiration gallery on Feb 29th. So mark your calenders and look for me here on the 29th. Be there or be square!

My friends Greta and Simone had a brilliant idea for a challenge blog called "scrap your crap". Meaning basically use up your stuff so you can buy more...LOL!!! Anyway head over to get some great ideas for using that stuff up! New goodies and a week of random compliments

Howdy ya'll! So I wanted to share a couple of exciting new purchases I've made over the last week! First up is my lovely new purse...oh how I love it so. It's hard to tell from the photo but it has some metallic threads running through it to give it some "glam". I am so happy I bought this!

Next up....Jason got me this! So now I'm so techno savvy i don't know what to do with myself! Any of you that I email with regularly can expect some illegible, non-sensical email shooting off of this bad boy starting today! LOL!

Now...let's get to the social experiment shall we! So yesterday I got an email that put me in a crummy mood. I'm not sure if that was the intention of the email or if I just took it that way. At any rate...I was stewing over it all night and still this morning.

But I thought...how can I turn this into a positive. So I thought about how words can either make or break your day. Then I thought that I would give myself a challenge to say something nice to at least 10 people over the next week. Just a random "I love your sweater" or "nice car", "what a great haircut" or other observational nice-a-ties. Something to make that other persons day. With all the gloom and doom on the news...the rigors of daily life...a little pick me up is all that is needed to make someone smile and go to bed at the end of the day feeling ok. So if you're inclined, feel free to join me in a week of random compliments...I think it will make me feel good to make others feel good!

The weekend and other news...

Well time for an update. I think I'll do this person by person for a change....

Jacob...was sick on Tuesday with a cold...stayed home from school. Left his jacket on the playground overnight on Wednesday. Went to gymnastics on Thursday. Explained how the moon glows to me on Friday (correctly I might add). Got 100% on his spelling test on Friday and got to have Burger king in the cafeteria. Was able to go with mom for a "special day out" on Saturday to In-N-Out Burger for lunch and then off to buy his first pair of highly coveted Sketchers.

Nick...Took the dog to dog training class with dad. Was able to fight off all major illnesses. Went to preschool On Wednesday. Decided on Thursday he wanted to get his pictures taken. So Friday he was the one who went to do the Pottery Barn Kids shoot. He got to skip pre school that day. It's for the Summer 08' catalog. But they switched him and one other boy in and out so I'm not positive he will be in it...more to come on that.

Luke....let's just say he had a "rough week" and a sticker chart has been implemented to rectify the "situation". Got to have dad go to preschool with him on friday.

Jason...Didn't have Monday off of work (bummer). Has been working on getting our dog trained. Has been getting my website modified so we can switch it over to a flash based platform. Figured out our dag is a German pinscher. Fixed up my laundry room for me. Helped me clean up the house. Was the preschool helper on Friday.

Me...Made dinner every night (We are a bit cash low right now...so I made that vow...no eating out). Got an email from the twins agent saying they wanted one of them for a shoot for PBK on Friday...had to choose a twin. Did some scrapping (see the Lo page). Did lot's of laundry. Had a "girls day out" with some friends. Went to Oakland for the PBK shoot (the awesome old part of Oakland, right on the Berkeley border where all the homes are worth like 2 million +)...ooohed and awwwwed. Took Jacob on his big Sketcher day. Fell in love with my new refrigerator...see below. Sewed on my scrap pages for the first time and broke out the grungeboard!

I think that's about it in our world last week.

In other news....the twins have a shoot for Pottery Barn Kids on Friday. Not sure yet if it's for a catalog, website, or in-store stuff. I'll let you know when I know. Should be fun!

Luke and I had a heart to heart conversation this evening while I was making dinner. He was sitting on the floor looking out the window at the dog and he asked me if tonight I could sew up "blankie". Blankie is his most favorite blanket in the entire world. He has loved it and carried it around for the last 3 years of his life. I told him that blankie might be beyond sewing...it is very ripped up and I have mended him (Luke refers to blankie as "him) many times...but the mending is just not working.

Luke rolled him up into a ball and hugged blankie and said "Mom...can blankies die?" I said "Well...they don't die. But they can get so worn out that they are just kind of done being a blanket". He looked sad and hugged it tighter. I told him he could keep blankie forever, even if he was ripped up. He finished the conversation by saying that he was never going to rip him ever again...because he is his friend. Sweet...

Overheard at The Galleria

Jason and I headed to the mall today to look at new refrigerators and pick out a new lamp for the living room. It was lunch time while all the kids were in school. While walking through I saw a teenage girl heading toward us on her cell phone. As she passed I heard her say "no I really am sick....I was just so bored at home I had to come to the mall." HAHAHAHA!! I'm so glad I have boys!

Happy New Year...a week late! LOL! I'm just a tad busy but realized I need to post at least a couple sentences. Hope you all had a safe and "sane" holiday. We were on the train to Disneyland on New Years day. More on that later!
