Fairy Tale Town
We just got home from Funderland, which is a pretty old small amusement park in William Land Park in Sacramento. The boys had a blast! The only bummer was that the train was closed for the day. Now we are going to the Outback for dinner. Jason is meeting a friend for drinks and dinner, so it's mom and the boys only tonight!

Fishing at the cabin
This weekend we made an overnight trip up to the cabin. The boys absolutely love it there! They can get dirty and stay that way for the remainder of the trip. Grandpa pushed them for hours on the swings, they played "mountain baseball" where they hit pine cones instead of balls, they went for a bike ride, and fished a bit before we left. Too bad there was a dead animal somewhere in the sleeping house that I had to smell the whole night. I think I got about 2 hours of sleep, so I was exhausted after my holiday weekend! But everyone had a fun time!
I'm gonna catch one this big!!

meaningless kiss
This is the other song I loved in this movie. It's so "Careless Whisper" it's awesome. I love this part because it's all women in their late 30's in the crowd and I can so relate! His pelvic thrusts crack me up.....Hilarious!

Things that are fun....
So here are a couple of fun new finds this week! First off my friend Greta referred me to a new scrap site. It's called Scrap in Style. Seems really cool with a nice group of people to chat with. Click here to check it out.
The second thing that I found fun this week is this hilarious video at YouTube "Mom my ride" So true people...so true!
Lastly....this is rocking our world! McDonalds has Shrek toys in!! Did you read the last paragraph...yeah that's right..."mom my ride"! Not only do they have Shrek toys, they also have Shrek glasses, like the old school 80's ones. So for nostalgia's sake I had to buy 3. They are cool!
oh yeah...and I bought these shoes last night!! Lovin' them!
This is a list of things that have brought me profound joy over the last few days.....oh lord I live a "little life", but that's the way i like it!

Surprise!!!
Awwww...how the mind of a 3 year old works.
The other day my kids were jumping around on the couch and I asked them at least 5 times to stop or someone was bound to get hurt. Sure enough. Nick hurt his arm or something and was crying. I said "well I'm not surpised, I told you someone was going to get hurt."
His response was priceless.....with a quizical look on his face he stopped crying and shouted....."surprise mom!" he kept saying it over and over and I couldn't help but laugh.

My Mother's Day
I had a very nice Mother's Day this year! My husband and boys surprised me with a super new picture of them. It has been well over a year since we have taken them for a studio picture, so this was a great surprise!
We also went up to Lake Tahoe for lunch. It was a nice day and while we had reservations at Garwoods, we ended up eating at the Hyatt at Incline Village. I got another Mother's Day treat there when an older couple came up to our table after they were done to tell us what well behaved kids we have. Aww shucks!

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day all! To celebrate, I am putting all patterned paper kits 20% off at the store! And not only that, with every order I am throwing in a delectable little bottle of stickles! Stickles are one of the hottest embellishments right now, so why not try some for free!
I hope you come on over and celebrate Mother's Day with some new supplies!

I have "mom's" diease
I have an overwhelming need when I make food to make way to much! It's like my true calling was to be a cook in the army or something!! I always have leftovers. Every party, every event, every holiday. I overdo it and I can't stop!
This is what I managed to "whip up" in 2 days for Jacob's kindergarten bake sale tomorrow at the spring carnival. 50 pks of chocolate covered graham crackers (that's 100, folks) and 40 pks of chocolate covered oreo pops (80). I also decorated them, packaged them and will hand deliver them on a silver platter no less, just kidding (on the silver platter part that is). the packaging took a day alone. I need to chill I think. Because I'm sure my goodies will sit on the table while the chocolate chip cookies from Safeway that someone threw in a ziploc will sell before mine, it never fails!
Also...notice the bottles of wine in the background of the first picture?? I hit the old BevMo buy one get one for a nickel sale the other day. This is what treats "mom's disease".

Interview Me
Here's a challenge post I picked up from Barb-n-PA on SBA.
1. Do you have any books signed by the author? Why did you decide on these authors to sign their books? Yes...I saw David Sedaris last fall and was such a huge fan that i decided to lug my books along. As luck would have it I ended up being the last person in line to get my insrciptions. He talked to me for a few minutes too!
2. If you could go back in time with someone in history, Who would it be and why? I wouldn't. I'm happy here with all my modern amenities, medical advancements and equal rights!
3. Did you study any courses in photography? Yes, I took 2 college courses, but that was before digital cameras were even around.
4. If you could pick somewhere to live if money were no object, Where would you live and why? The Malibu coast...have you been there? That's why! Amazing!
5. What was an important moment in your life that if you wouldn't have done it, it could have changed the course of your life? Probably my "Thelma and Louise" trip to the Grand Canyon with my cousin. I was 23 and she was 19. We just got in our car with our map and we would drive for 6-7 hours a day and then stay in the fun places. We were gone for about 10 days. I have never laughed so hard, or been so mad, or been so amazed, or been so scared or so stupid or so fearless as I was in doing that. I met my husband 1 month after that trip and I feel like that was kind of my "breaking out of my shell" odyssey.
6. What is your all time favorite website to visit? Well, this is my daily list, CNN.com, WellsFargo.com, PerezHilton.com, Scrapjazz, Scrapbook addict, and of course my very own NoelMignon.com!
7. What do you consider to be your best and worst character trait? My best is something I thought I never had. I can listen and really "get" what people are saying. At least I think I can. My worst is that I tend to "hermit" myself. Not go out for days.
8. What was one of the most embarrassing moments in your life? Let's see.....I remember once I farted by accident in class because I was laughing so hard, that was embarrassing!
9. What was the best advice your parents ever gave you? Hmm.....I'll have to get back to you on that one.
10. If someone was to make a movie about you, Who would play you? Tell us why? Is it their looks, personality? What? My husband says Kate Winslet. I have also been told by old men that i look like Doris Day (my mom always got that too!).
Feel free to copy and paste!
