May The Force Be With You

So there is probably the coolest ever interactive show right now at Disneyland. Boys and girls were both so into this, and who can blame them! It's called Jedi Training Academy. The Jedi "master", who was trained by Yoda himself chooses 25 or so kids from the audience who are given jedi robes and training lightsabers to use and "train" to become padwas (sp?), or jr. jedi's in training. They walk them through about 5 minutes of moves and training and then suddenly there is a "shift in the force". Stormtroopers appear and the stage lifts up to reveal Darth Vader and Darth Maul (OMG moment!!!). Belive me, this is beyond impressive! Smoke, scary music, light saber sounds galore. the kids are mesmerized, as are the adults! The kids must then take on the bad guys. This is so well done. When the kids swing their lightsabers sound effect accompany. Each kid gets 5 hits on the bad guy and then they are sent packing because the good force is to strong. All the kids who participate are given diplomas for completing the jedi training.

I thought Jacob would really want to do this. But it was pretty scary, especially the guy who played Darth Maul. He sent kids screaming in terror as he ran toward them. So this trip he just watched, in complete "frozen mode", with disbelief and ecstacy on his face. But back in the hotel he had all the moves and lines memorized. "ACTIVATE!...right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, duck, head!" He and Nick played this until we told them to knock it off and go to bed!

But this is the best show I can remember in a very long time! You must make time to see this if you are heading to Disneyland!

Scientist -v- Pro Soccer Player

So for several weeks Jacob has said he is going to be a scientist when he grows up. Previous to this it was an artist...but anyway.... Tonight he said he is going to be a soccer player. I asked him what happened to becoming a scientist. His reply was "well...being a scientist is too dangerous. Something might go wrong in the lab."

Spongebob rules my world

Ok, so as many of you know Spongebob Squarepants is hugely popular with the little folks. My son Luke is the ham of the family and he inadvertently says quite hilarious things. Such as....

one day while playing with their new "BK bobbleheads" I hear Luke saying "I'm ready...promotion, I'm ready...promotion".

Also, we inherited the movie from some family members who brought it here and "forgot" it. Now I'm not saying it was intentional, but if you have seen it you know it is definitely not "Oscar worthy" material, so their forgetfulness may have been on purpose. Anyway, the boys were watching it and I was in the other room and I hear them all fighting over who is going to be who, a very common occurrence for any show they are watching. "I'm Spongebob...I'm Patrick....."long pause until Luke chimes in with "I'm Hasselhoff". I almost fell off my chair.

Jacob's Art...

"Luke Skywalker has a power, Danny Phantom has a power too".
"Luke Skywalker Has a Green Lightsaber"

The Lamb is Soft

Ok, I love this...I had used a circle cutter to cut 2 holes in the white paper, when I came back to my table there was a nose and smile added. I put the green under when I scanned it so it would show up. Pretty clever of him!

Happy Birthday Mommy! That's a cake with a special something on it.

Jacob has been saying for awhile that when he grows up he wants to be an artist. Here are a few I could find around. I'm also loving his writing these days. At school it's really getting better and better every day with the teacher's help. At home he is trying on his own. Very cute!

Speaking of infomercials.....

Ok, so before we go to bed every night we set the TV to Sprout or noggin and then when the boys wake up they can watch TV quietly (yeah right, in theory) until we get up. One night I was watching something on Bravo and forgot to reset the channel.

At about 7:30 the next morning Jacob barged into our room and started talking about cooking chickens "and they spin and spin...and it only 39$ mom!!!!"

He is obsessed with infomercials. I think it all started about a year ago when he caught his first "Rocket Fishing Rod https://www.spinmaster.com/product.php?productid=16174&s=rocket&sessid=94623b980b4147bc7bf6dc16523dc22c" ad. He went NUTS. "mom..mom...hurrry come see this, oh my gosh, this is so cool...I want this.... I want this"

Which leads me to the latest. The other day I was laying in bed and Jacob came in. He said "Mom...all old citizens should have life alert because it could save you if there is an emergency." "You should get that for your mom"...

Do you think my kids watch to much TV??

Funny Boys

I have some funny kids. I wanted to share a couple of funny things that have come out of their mouths before I forget.

Yesterday I picked up the twins from preschool. There was a classmate of theirs walking by the car as I was putting them in their car seats. I asked them "What is that boys name?" Nick said nothing, not interested in answering, obviously. I looked at Luke and could see him thinking. He said "Mom........ it's called Joshua."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks ago I was giving my oldest a bath. He is a big love bug and is always saying how much he loves me. The conversation went something like this... "I'll love you forever mom". "I'll love you forever and a day Jacob". "I love you one thousand, twelve hundred, eighteen, thirty two....is that a lot mom?" "Oh wow...that is a lot Jacob, I'm so lucky....I love you infinity"...." So anyway mom...the ovglove protects your hand up to 4000 degrees, that's why it's the perfect gift for everyone". "Oh wow, I didn't know that, that sounds neat." he he he

Oh the minds of little boys......

Martha, Martha, Martha...

I spent most of the day updating a bunch of stuff on my website http://www.noelmignon.com/ Put a bunch of stuff on sale a quite a few items in the clearance section. I am signed up to go to the CHA show in Anaheim at the end of the month and I am hoping to be able to get a bunch of new supplies to keep my site fresh.

Another very cool (or good) thing I am going to see at the show is Martha Stewart! I can't wait. I'm hoping I can get some pictures! Not sure if they will let me, I sure hope so! This is my first trade show/conference for scrapbooking and crafts stuff. I'm kind of nervous. It's nice my family can come with me. The kids and Jason are all going to go to Disneyland on Sunday while I'm scoping out the goods and then on Monday we will all go. I'm excited, hope it doesn't rain!

Sicky Sickington

I have been sick. Coughing up a lung sick. Yuck. I hate being sick. Nothing gets done. Dinner doesn't get made. Dust bunnies pile up in every corner on the hard wood floor.

At least I wasn't sick on my birthday. We all went to Bucca DiBeppo and ate and ate and ate some more. I love that place. If you have never been there you should go. Here is the link http://www.bucadibeppo.com/ It's just fun and the food is really good. My favorite is the Penne Cardinale, unfortunately they had changed the menu, but they agreed to make us the penne cardinale. But we changed our minds and instead had an appetizer of calamari, and entree of chicken marsala, a side of green beans and the chocolate vesuvio for dessert.

My husband got me a very cool portable photography studio to take photos of my cards and other projects. My kids got me a movie, Little Miss Sunshine, and a certificate for a massage, which I will cash in as soon as I'm well enough to enjoy it! My mom got me a subscription to NetFlix which is a very cool gift. We watched my first choice last night and were not disappointed. Wedding Crashers was hilarious.

Well, off to cough out my other lung.
